Moravian College Facility
We are proud to return once again to Moravian College for the 5th Annual Lehigh Valley Yoga Festival Fundraiser. Located in the heart of Downtown Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Moravian College traces its beginnings back to 1742. Situated amidst lush, green landscape the campus is close to many eateries, shops, museums, and galleries.
This year, the main space for the Yoga Festival will be in the Sally Breidegam Miksiewicz Center for Health Sciences (SBMCHS) which opened in 2017. In addition to 4 locations in SBMCHA, classes will also be held in the foyer of PPHAC, and kids’ yoga classes will take place in the garden outside of SBMCHA.
The Lehigh Valley Yoga Festival often attracts globally-conscious individuals who not only care about personal health and wellness, but also the integrity of the planet. We commend Moravian College for its active participation in efforts to halt global warming, and we think you might be interested in learning more about their sustainability
Named in honor of an alumna and former member of the Moravian College Board of Trustees, the SBMCHS is a state-of-the-art, 55,000 square foot facility and boasts its designation as a “Green” building. LEED certified, it has LED light fixtures in all spaces, which underscores the College’s commitment to energy conservation. LED lighting uses less energy, reduces the demand from power plants, and decreases greenhouse gas emissions.
The building also houses a 3-story, open-concept atrium, and we think you’ll enjoy the layout this year with sponsor and vendor tables scattered throughout. And in between classes, be sure to check out a key feature of SBMCHS which pays homage to Historic Bethlehem’s heritage – a hanging, 8-foot, lighted Moravian Star!
